28 Oregon Delegates to Republican Convention
Allocated in Oregon Primary Vote
Lake Oswego, OR – Oregon Republican Chairman Allen Alley announced today the tentative number of Delegates and Alternates from Oregon to the Republican National Convention to be pledged to specific Presidential Candidates, based on the proportional allocation of votes as specified in Oregon law and State and National Party Rules.
Oregon has 28 Delegates in total. Three are unbound Delegates: the State Party Chairman Allen Alley, the National Committeeman Solomon Yue and National Committeewoman Donna Cain. These unbound Republican National Committee Members chose to remain unpledged until today. Alley, Yue and Cain have today pledged their nomination votes to Mitt Romney.
Under Oregon Law, the 25 Bound Delegates are apportioned proportionally by the Presidential Primary vote. The tentative proportional allocation of these Delegates and Alternate Delegates is listed here:

When the Official Results are made public by the Oregon Secretary of State, these tentative allocation numbers will serve as the basis for the election of At Large and Congressional District Delegates and Alternates at five Congressional District Conventions to be held concurrently on Saturday June 23rd.
In addition to electing National Convention Delegates and Alternates, Presidential Electors will be nominated and Congressional District Officers will be elected at the Congressional District Conventions, which will be held in Beaverton, Portland, Salem, Roseburg and Bend.
Any Oregonian who has been a registered Republican since November 17th, 2011 may run for Convention Delegate or Alternate. Newly elected Republican Precinct Committee persons will elect those who will represent Oregon at the Republican National Convention, cast our Electoral College vote when our nominee wins the Presidency in the fall, and run the affairs of the Congressional District Committees for the next four years. Downloadable filing forms for National Convention Delegate and Alternate positions, and Presidential Elector positions are available at the Oregon Republican Party website: www.oregonrepublicanparty.org.
“Oregon Republicans are proud of our fair, open and accessible Presidential nomination, Elector nomination and Congressional District Officer election process. This is where Oregonians can make a difference and participate in the most basic political functions of our State and Republic,” Chairman Alley concluded.
