Kremer event raises money to combat sex trafficking

Lake Oswego, OR – Mary Kremer, candidate for State Senate in District 19, donated 10 percent of net proceeds of her July 22nd event to Compassion2One, an organization dedicated to saving children from sex trafficking. The event, held at the Mary Kremer campaign headquarters in downtown Lake Oswego, featured dinner and margaritas. The women-only fundraiser was key-noted by guest speaker Dr. Cyndi Romine of Compassion2One.

“Sex trafficking attacks the lives of thousands of women and children every day, sometimes even in our own neighborhoods and cities,” said Kremer. “This is modern day slavery, and ending it should be among our top priorities. The first step is raising awareness, and the second step is gathering resources, and this event did both.”

Following the fundraiser there was an advanced training session held at the headquarters for Compassion2One. Other organizations came to the training to learn more and help the cause.

“I really appreciate that different groups and people from a variety of backgrounds are coming together to fight this social injustice,” Kremer said, “This is the kind of example we need in Oregon. I am proud to be apart of the fight against human trafficking and encourage others to become more involved.”
