Kennemer Issues Statement on Norris' Seeking Democratic Nomination

Oregon City- State Representative Bill Kennemer released the following statement today in response to news that Alice Norris will seek the Democrat nomination to challenge him in the November General Election.

"Obviously there is still a process that must take place before Norris is the nominee but, we've known for months that we would have a spirited race. PACs and special interests spent over $600K against us last cycle and we know they will try to do the same again. I've proven I have an independent voting record in Salem and that scares the people who want to perpetuate the partisanship and special interest driven approach that's become too prevalent."

"This race is about focusing on the things people today are worried about - jobs, their family's economic security, and a government that is spending more and taxing more than Oregon's job market can support. Voters will have clear choice between our pro-jobs vision and Norris' record of unsustainable spending, continual budget deficits, and perpetual tax and fee increases. Those are the conversations we're sure to have in the coming months."
