Oregon Republican Party Vice Chairman Russ Walker Resigns
To Accept New Position With FreedomWorks

Tigard, Ore. – Russ Walker submitted his resignation as Vice Chairman of the Oregon Republican Party in order to accept a new position with FreedomWorks PAC, a conservative grassroots organization dedicated to more personal and economic freedom.

Walker’s resignation letter stated that his new responsibilities with Freedomworks will not allow him to continue his role as Vice Chairman. Walker has been Vice Chairman of the Oregon Republican Party since 2005, serving in election cycles with two Oregon Republican Party Chairmen: Vance Day and Bob Tiernan.

In accepting the resignation, Oregon Republican Party Chairman Bob Tiernan said: “Russ has been a strong voice within the grassroots community in promoting his conservative principles. As Vice Chairman of the Oregon Republican Party Russ excelled in connecting with other conservative grass roots organizations to further the mission and operations of the Oregon Republican Party. We wish him success in his new position of increased responsibility with FreedomWorks.”

Under Oregon Republican Party bylaws, a successor to Russ Walker will be elected at the Central Committee meeting on Saturday, August 28th.

Russ will be missed, but this is a great opportunity for him and he deserves it.  The next Vice Chair has large shoes to fill.
