Remembering Pearl Harbor - Honoring our 'Greatest Generation'

Pearl Harbor Day - December 7th, 1941

Today is National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. Sixty eight years ago the greatest generation answered the call to duty to serve our country. Through their sacrifice, the freedom of millions was preserved and the peace and prosperity of future generations was secured. We will not forget.

We honor the 2,403 young Americans who died on this day and those who perished and were imprisoned in the Philippines as the tide of totalitarianism swept across the Asia. The 'day that lives in infamy' shook America awake and caused one of the greatest crusades for freedom in our nation's history, leading to the liberation of Europe from tyranny and the defeat of enemies of freedom across the vast Pacific Ocean.

Take time today to thank a Veteran who has served our country. Tell those you know from the greatest generation that we honor their sacrifice and remember those who selflessly placed their lives on the sacred alter of freedom for the benefit of future generations.
