Campaign Platform
Scott Bruun is committed to:
Individual Liberty Limited Government Personal Responsibility
Free Markets Financial Sobriety Strong National Defense
During this campaign, Scott will be talking about bringing these values to Washington DC. In congress, Scott will be committed to:
Job Creation & Economic Growth: Scott Bruun is committed to working in congress to create a better environment for private-sector job creation. This includes tax reform and simplification for American families and job creators. It also means reducing regulatory red-tape; expanding trade opportunities for Oregon’s natural resource, ag and technology sectors; and improved access for continuing education.
Free Market Healthcare Solutions: Scott Bruun is opposed to efforts to nationalize our healthcare. Instead, Scott supports reforms that would allow individuals to deduct health insurance premiums; allow purchase of health plans across state lines; create block grants to help people with pre-existing conditions; promote medical liability reform; and accelerate use of medical information technology.
Budget Reform: Scott Bruun is opposed to the out-of-control spending, deficits, and special-interest earmarks that have become hallmarks of congress. Scott will work to reduce spending, balance the budget and reduce federal debt. Scott will work to reform entitlements so that our promise to all generations of American can be fulfilled. Economic growth and budget discipline are key to success.
Energy Security: Scott Bruun will work to reduce dependence on foreign oil by supporting American-based alternatives. Renewable energy is an important part of our energy future, as is an expanded emphasis on clean and affordable nuclear energy. Scott opposes national Cap & Trade legislation, which would only serve to increase energy costs for all Americans while exporting millions of American jobs.
